One year on...

We are one year out from the production, and I feel like I am still recovering. I have not been idle, just many other life events have taken precedence. There is good news, however. I have DVDs of the production, filmed on our final dress rehearsal. Good quality, great sound and colors, and the story is solid and clearly told. The cameramen had not seen the production, and so were surprised at times by the unfolding narrative, but this in a sense adds to the sense of unease. I do not think that a video could have captured the effect that I was trying to achieve in the audience - as those of you lucky enough to have seen a live performance can attest. The play was intentionally written to make the audience feel a part of the production, and while the video shows this, it cannot replicate it in a video screen.

As to the future; two notes. I have written the second part of the cycle, The Mask, and it is in a form that is ready for productiion. The third part, The Repairer of Reputations, is in draft form. Production of these will depend on my time and my wife's willingness to tolerate my madness. Also, we need cast, crew and a venue.

Second: I have obtained permission to produce an original play by Jonathan Tobin, The Shadow Over Dunwich, based on the horror stories of HP Lovecraft.

I saw a production of this in Chicago, and loved it. It is a 2-man show - I have already cast it, and we are working on the early stages of production. Plan to perform in 2024, but need a venue. I'm optimistic, and this is a really great story. I'm certain that anyone who enjoyed The Yellow Sign will love it.

That's it for now. Sorry I am such a poor correspondent; real life has a way of interfering with hobbies, you know. Stay wierd.

Oooh, when do you plan to release the DVDs? Will you also release the recording as VOD?
